| The
Vernon Valley Karate Academy offers programs that accommodate the
needs of anyone interested in learning the art of Karate. Participation
in these programs in based more on readiness than a particular age.
We have students who are 4 and students who are Grandparents. Everyone
has a proper place in one of our groups. The Vernon Academy also reaches
out to students with special needs. Through our association with "The
Center for Families with Special Needs" we work to support all
children. |
| Family
Plan:
The Vernon Valley Karate Academy encourages
participation by family members. "Families that kick together,
Stick together
" Most of our students share their karate
experiences with other members of their family: brothers, sisters,
mothers and fathers. We even provide classes where children are
encouraged to train with their parents so they can learn together
and work toward a common goal. Our Family program is also very affordable
in that amazing discounts are available. |

PAL
Karate:
All beginning students are welcomed into our school through a free
program offered in coordination with the Vernon Police Athletic
League. During the summer and again in the fall, beginner classes
are organized to acquaint interested area residents with Karate.
The program lasts approximately 6 weeks and earns participants the
first colored belt promotion. A $10.00 donation to the PAL organization
is requested. At other times during the year, new students are welcomed
into the PAL program by joining with existing classes. |

Rangers:
Our Ranger program is geared to meet the needs of our youngest students.
We teach Karate techniques that motivate the children to succeed
yet allow for the differences in developmental abilities at these
young ages. This program stresses skills that promote getting along
with others, working cooperatively with peers and teachers, avoiding
conflict by learning proper social skills, and recognizing and dealing
with incidents involving strangers and other dangerous situations. |
Ranger
Student Creed
Karate makes me Safe, Strong, and Free.
Karate makes me Polite as you can see.
Karate makes me the Best that I can Be |
Juniors:
Our Juniors program meets the needs of students who are ready to participate
in a more structured program of Karate. Though we continue to stress
the development of social skills that promote avoiding conflict, we
emphasize the need for assertive behaviors that allow one to stand
up for oneself without being aggressive or passive. Respect, courteous
behavior, and a positive winning attitude are our developmental goals.
Students develop self-esteem through their Karate training at the
Vernon Valley Karate Academy. |
Adults:
Our Adult program is structured to allow any interested student a
path that will lead to success in the martial arts. Our adult students
come from differing age groups and physical abilities. Our program
is structured to accommodate individual differences. Karate is for
everyone. All that is required is a determination to succeed. |
| All
students progress through their program by attaining Karate rank that
is represented by a new colored belt. Testing for this rank takes
place every 3 to 4 months. |
